Portuguese Textile Cluster participates in EURATEX Annual Convention

EURATEX, the European Confederation of Textile and Clothing Industry, held its seventh Annual Convention in Valencia, Spain. 
This year,  this meeting discussed "Regional Cooperation for Industrial Modernization in the European Textile & Clothing Sector".

The promotion of European industrial competitiveness is configured as a fundamental objective by the European Commission in the current design of the next framework program post HORIZONT2020. 

The alignment of regional policies in the implementation of the smart specialization strategies will encourage projects for industrial modernization in the textile / clothing sector with a transnational and interregional approach is an essential priority. This event, which in recent years has brought together around 200 textile business leaders from all over Europe, is an extraordinary opportunity for companies in the sector to participate actively and provide their vision on the challenges and the opportunities for our sector in the coming years.

Ana Ribeiro, representing the Portuguese Textile Cluster, debated, together with the italian and french cluster, the important role of the clusters for the modernization of the European textile SME's.
