Minister highlights strong textile presence in ISPO

The textile industry is to be congratulated! The eulogy of the Minister of Economy, Manuel Caldeira Cabral, highlights the strong presence of national brand companies in ISPO, the largest and most important world fashion show and sports articles. Declarations recorded on video by Jornal de Notícias, where the official also highlights the technology and innovation strands exhibited by Portuguese brands at the Munich fair.

"The technical textiles related to sport are the most demanding in terms of technological capacity and it is in this technological area and of great innovation that the Portuguese textiles affirm themselves", stressed the minister, also pointing out another important facet of the textile made in Portugal: Now our companies are not just working for the big brands. They are also creating their own brands, which they want to affirm as leaders, and that have everything in terms of quality, differentiation and design to be in the best of the world. "

The minister also highlights the fact that Portuguese companies are the main protagonists of the fair, occupying the privileged areas and winning a good part of the quality and innovation awards. In the last decade the presence of Portuguese brands in ISPO has increased by 10, specifying the director-general of ATP - Textile and Clothing Association of Portugal, Paulo Vaz, which in 2006 was four companies in 120 m2, passed this year to a record of 44 companies and an area of ​​more than one thousand square meters.
